Nelly Defends Performing at Trump’s Inauguration
Rapper Nelly, who is scheduled to perform at President-elect Donald Trump’s Liberty Ball, defended his decision to join the inauguration festivities.
During a conversation with rapper Willie D, Nelly emphasized that his performance was an honor and that he respected the office of the president.
Nelly clarified that his decision wasn’t motivated by money, but rather by a deep respect for the office and his military background.
He pointed out that members of the military put their lives on the line for whoever is in office, and as such, he was more than willing to perform for the new president.
He also spoke out against critics who suggested that Trump was a white supremacist, asserting that the politics surrounding the issue were irrelevant to his decision.
Nelly reiterated that he would have performed for any president, including President Biden or Vice President Kamala Harris.
